Bryan Boggenpoel took this shot early on the morning of Wednesday 31 March 2004, through a Starlight Express HX916 and camera lens. The image is beleived to be part of Gamma Cygni but Brian says "I can't quite work out which bits of the nebulosity I have got by comparing it to the more easily found pictures on the net. It is four one minute exposures. The lens isn't too sharp on the brighter stars".

ic1805small.jpg (4400 bytes)  IC1805

The observing site was on the island of La Palma over four nights (17th to the 20th August 2001),a period of gusty wind and poor seeing for that location.
This shot was at the prime focus of a Brandon 94mm F7 refractor using a Nikon camera body attached via a 2" adapter. The mount was a Vixen GPDX with SS2K software and guided using an SBIG4 autoguider.  The film used was Kodak Elite Chrome 200. Exposure times for the colour varied between 45 and 20 minutes, the latter being due to concern over the gusts of wind we were experiencing.
